After nearly five years, Nate Diaz finally secured his long-awaited revenge against Jorge Masvidal in a professional boxing ring this past Saturday.
In a thrilling 10-round match headlining a pay-per-view event at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, Diaz triumphed over Masvidal by majority decision. The judges’ scores reflected the intense, back-and-forth action: two judges awarded Diaz scores of 98-92 and 97-93, while the third judge scored it an even draw at 95-95.
This victory avenges Diaz’s previous third-round TKO loss to Masvidal from November 2019 during the UFC’s first BMF title fight. In that bout, a doctor stopped the fight due to a cut on Diaz, a decision Diaz strongly contested. Following his win on Saturday, Diaz expressed his desire for two more high-profile rematches: one with Jake Paul, who defeated him in boxing last year, and another with UFC champion Leon Edwards.
“I’m going to beat Jake Paul’s ass and I’m ready to fight the highest-ranked boxer I can find,” Diaz declared. “My ultimate goal is to be the best fighter in the world, so I aim to reclaim a UFC title. Leon Edwards, Jake Paul, and anyone else—you’re next.”

Masvidal, 39, who retired from MMA in April but has hinted at a comeback, disputed the decision and called for a third fight against Diaz.
“I thought I won,” Masvidal said. “I believe I landed the harder shots. We’re now 1-1. Let’s find a venue and settle this again.”
Diaz delivered a classic performance, overwhelming Masvidal with relentless volume throughout their 175-pound bout. While Masvidal appeared to land the more powerful shots, Diaz’s legendary resilience and relentless pace were decisive. The two fighters continued to exchange blows until the final bell, with Diaz even laughing and turning his back at times.
The event, broadcast on DAZN, was co-promoted by Diaz’s Real Fight Inc. and Masvidal’s Gamebred Boxing. It also featured notable figures from the combat sports world, including former UFC champion Anthony Pettis, who lost to Diaz’s longtime teammate Chris Avila.
